Dog Walking Services in Gloucester

Following an initial enquiry, owners are asked to complete the Dashing Dogs online registration form. This provides the information needed about the dog’s health, temperament, behaviour, routines, veterinary care, emergency contacts and relevant permissions.

Once the registration form has been completed and reviewed, we arrange a meet and greet and individual assessment. This allows me to get to know your dog, discuss their needs and decide whether the service is suitable. Where appropriate, introductions are then carefully managed before regular walks begin.

We offer 1 hour group walks, that take place in carefully chosen countryside and woodland locations, giving dogs space to exercise, explore and enjoy varied surroundings. 

Walks may occasionally be adapted to suitable local parks or fields depending on the dogs taking part, weather and ground conditions, travel arrangements and safe management on the day.

No. Dashing Dogs does not use enclosed secure fields. Our service is centred on countryside and woodland group walks, with suitable dogs enjoying off-lead exercise following assessment and with their owner’s consent.

If your dog can only exercise off lead within a fully enclosed area, our walking service may not be the right fit and an alternative dog walker specialising in secure-field walks would probably be more suitable.

Our service Walking groups are planned according to temperament, behaviour, confidence and compatibility rather than simply being filled to a fixed number. New dogs are introduced carefully, and group arrangements are reviewed as I get to know each dog.

Unneutered dogs may be considered, but acceptance is not automatic. Suitability is assessed individually, taking account of the dog’s age, behaviour, maturity, compatibility with other dogs and how they can be managed safely. Any relevant information should be provided during registration and discussed at the meet and greet.

Yes.  Vaccination status is recorded as part of the Dashing Dogs registration process. Owners should provide current vaccination information and advise me of any relevant health concerns before the service begins. Any requirements relating to an individual dog will be discussed during registration and assessment.

A dog will only be considered for off-lead walking following a full assessment and with the owner’s explicit consent. Permission does not automatically guarantee off-lead exercise; the final decision will always depend on the dog, the walking environment and whether they can be managed safely.

Yes. Dashing Dogs uses SIM-enabled live GPS tracking units on every walk as an additional safety measure. which are used on each walk. Dogs may also wear bells where appropriate, helping me hear and locate them in woodland, long grass or areas with reduced visibility.

GPS trackers and bells provide additional reassurance alongside careful supervision, responsible handling and appropriate decisions about whether dogs remain on lead.

Dogs are collected from their home and transported in a specially adapted van that is carefully and regularly maintained. Dogs travel in secure, crash-protected individual crates, with a dedicated ventilation system helping to maintain a comfortable environment during transport.

Collection routes and travel arrangements are planned with the dogs’ safety, comfort and time in transit carefully considered.

Fresh water is carried and provided during walks. Healthy treats may also be given occasionally and in moderation, subject to the owner’s permission and any dietary requirements or allergies recorded during registration.

After walks, coats are checked and visible grass seeds or other debris are removed. Dogs are also given a wash-down after particularly muddy walks before being returned home.

Photos and videos from our walks are shared regularly on the Dashing Dogs Facebook and Instagram pages, where the appropriate owner permission has been provided.Unfortunately, I am unable to send an individual update after every walk. However, if there is anything important to report about your dog—or if an incident occurs—I will always contact you directly.

Walks are adjusted according to the weather, ground conditions and the individual needs of the dogs. This may mean changing the location, timing, duration or type of activity.

On occasions when extreme heat makes normal walks unsafe, an alternative service will be offered in accordance with the Dashing Dogs hot-weather policy. Owners will be kept informed of any necessary changes, with every decision made in the interests of the dogs’ welfare and safety.

Registration, assessment and any necessary introductions must be completed before regular walks begin.

Our fees reflect the complete service provided, including collection, secure transport, carefully managed countryside walks, GPS tracking and attentive care before, during and after each walk.
